Night Stalker FX FAQs

How do Night Stalker FX lights compare to Neon or LED tubes?

Just one of our light modules is significantly brighter than a 12” neon or 12” LED tube. The Night Stalker FX light modules are much smaller than those other products, about the size of a silver dollar, and have a very low profile, so you won't notice it sticking out during the day when the lights are shut off. They use special LED lighting technology found nowhere else.

But what about price? I see cheaper motorcycle LED kits sold on the Internet. Why should I buy yours?

These kits only appear cheaper. When you factor in a much longer assembly time and all the extra piece parts that you have to go out and purchase separately, you aren't really getting what you pay for. Then after that, see how much less brighter it is and how poorly it is constructed when compared to Night Stalker FX. Not to mention you won't get the same functionality. To reach the same brightness levels as Night Stalker FX, these other motorcycle LED kits would require about a $400 dollar investment, something that in the long run is much more expensive.

I like the concept of high quality, but I still don't feel like dropping $200 for one of these.

No problem, you can get a Basic Kit for only $99. You won't find a better deal anywhere for an easy-to-install, high reliability, high brightness turnkey LED lighting system. In case you change your mind and want better functionality later on you can buy an upgrade kit.

What is the difference between the Basic Kit and the Advanced Kit?

The Basic Kit is a very basic on/off ground effects LED kit that features a power converter controller, 2 light modules, and a basic on/off toggle switch. The Basic Kit has only one light output level. It is basic, but still more durable and much more brighter than LED or neon tubes. The Advanced Kit is much more advanced, allowing 2, 4 or 6 LED light modules to be attached, automatic shut-off capabilities, an illuminated switch, and light dimming functions.

What if I'm not into the “Ricey” or “Bling-Bling” look? Why would I want one of those LED kits on my bike?

As we mentioned before, Night Stalker FX is much brighter, controllable, and not gaudy like neon or cheap imported LED tubes. Many of our customers who are traditionally against neon or LED tubes are now riding with Night Stalker FX because of that very reason. And in case that isn't enough, consider nighttime safety and increased visibility.

In 2003, there were 3,590 motorcycle deaths* in the United States alone, 50% of which occurred after sunset.

This trend is rising, so any rider wants to be as visible as possible, that is, if you like to stay alive (popping wheelies is no fun when you are inanimate). Even if you are a careful rider, there are many careless drivers who are distracted by cell phone use, under the influence of alcohol, or have a rowdy bunch of kids in the back seat. Having all the tools at your disposal to increase your presence is a necessity for staying intact on the streets today.

Are Night Stalker FX LED under lighting kits easy to install? How long will the process take?

The kit is designed for fast and flexible installation for the beginner or expert electrical equipment installer alike. Each kit comes with step-by-step, easy to follow instructions. How long it will take will depend on your individual skill level. We estimate it will be roughly between 1 ½ and 3 hours.

Are underbody/ ground lighting kits legal?

According to Federal and State laws they are legal so long as they do not strobe. Local laws however, may vary, so you may want to check with the ones where you live before you buy. Also, you may want to be careful when planning long distance trips as you may travel through areas where restrictions are present. We are not aware of any case that has been successfully prosecuted regarding motorcycle under lighting, in fact most law enforcement officials we have talked to say it is a good idea for safety reasons, but again you will want to check your local laws to be sure before you ride with your accent LED lights on.

Can I use the Night Stalker FX Light modules other than on a motorcycle?

You can use Night Stalker FX light modules from anything from illuminating underneath your kitchen counter as one customer has done, to putting it under the seats and dash of your car. The light modules however MUST be directly connected to the controller and no other power source including the battery of your motorcycle or car. Ignoring this measure can lead to the lights burning out or being permanently damaged very quickly. This will void the warranty. Also, the controller MUST be connected to a 12 VDC power source or it will also be destroyed very quickly. Ignoring this precaution will also void the warranty.
